Catherine Milner is a knowledgeable psychotherapist with many years of experience in treating patients in the St Louis area, specifically The Hill, Clayton, Ladue, Brentwood, Webster Groves, Chesterfield, and Kirkwood areas.

Dr. Milner is licensed to practice psychotherapy in the State of Missouri. She is a Master’s graduate in Psychology from the University of West Florida and earned her Doctoral Degree from Saint Louis University. She taught graduate students as an Adjunct Professor for several years after graduating with her Ph.D. In addition to teaching, she has a Private Practice located in St Louis. She also has years of expertise in the field of psychotherapy gained from abroad.

Her care philosophy in psychotherapy is to be available to any individual as soon as they walk through the door of her private practice, and begins with a very short wait in her waiting room. She believes everyone has strengths they can draw on to empower themselves. She also believes in everybody’s ability to grow. Her therapy is respectful and allows individuals to be the experts in their own lives.

Dr. Milner’s compassionate, hopeful and respectful psychotherapy is validated as a healing process by current medical research in the rapidly evolving field of neuropsychiatry. Since Dr. Milner comes from a medical background that has focused on mental health, she has always been interested in how the mind and body are in sync. Especially in how powerfully the workings of the brain are connected to our physiological responses and how they affect human interaction in very subtle, unconscious ways.

What the above amounts to is that Dr. Milner’s approach is grounded on the assumption that people have many internal resources to draw on when constructing solutions to their own problems. Dr. Milner’s philosophy of psychotherapy therefore does not include the assumption that therapy is exclusively for the ‘sick’. So her psychotherapy is NOT aimed at ‘curing’ psychological ‘ailments’. Instead, rather than stressing peoples' deficits, which severely restricts therapeutic practice, her focus is on the individual uncovering and increasing their own strengths.

Her office is easily accessible from several highways and there is plenty of parking for her patient's convenience.

Please contact Dr. Catherine Milner today to discuss your situation or that of a loved one. You are not alone, she is here to provide support, encouragement and sound psychological counsel so that you can move on with your life and start anew.
